Community Groups

Life doesn't happen in nice, neat, orderly segments. Problems don't wait till Sunday when we can get our next spiritual infusion. Many folks though seem surprised that scripture doesn't come to us as a theological treatise written in the safety of an office with nice parallel outlines and an unemotional vocabulary. Scripture is messy as life is messy.

Our Community Groups are designed to allow you to meet new people, make new friendships, learn about the word of God in the midst of our messy lives and help each other apply God's Word to our messy lives. Community Groups are flexible, comfortable, and most of all real. They're not lead by theological giants, but by every day people who have every day questions and struggles just like you and me.

Structurally, we function on a sort of seasonal basis with three seasons a year starting with the Fall season in September, the Winter season in January and the Spring/Summer Season starting in May. Generally a season runs for roughly nine to twelve weeks depending on the group and what that particular group is studying. We encourage our Community Groups to take a month off to allow things to soak in and give folk a natural break or rest in their busy schedules. It also gives people a chance to continue with their previous group or sign up for a different group depending on their interests and schedule.

In the fall we have a church wide emphasis where all the groups study the same material, read the same books and sermons address the same topic. This helps keep focus and allows the Holy Spirit to address a corporate need in our church body. The rest of the year the groups are free to select different topics of study as they feel led.

Come join a group and learn together with fellow seekers and believers.
